Trims

Trims are the details that make the garment, and are a notable aspect in which you can strengthen your branding.

Extensive premium trims sourcing

We can source a wide variety of trims both locally and from specialized companies around the world. Unusual, trendy, and premium trims are no problem thanks to our network of contacts. Trim selection impacts lead time, compliance, wash performance, and MOQ constraints. We can help advise on what trims are best for you.

Prefer to decorate your own garments? We offer à la carte trims sourcing and can sell you customized patches, buttons, or other products.

Trims is a broad category and can be split into smaller subcategories depending your needs.

Functional Closures

Zippers, buttons, snaps, and toggles are just some of the items used to open and close garments and even provide adjustability where needed. We aim to source the highest quality trims to avoid basic customer complaints with cheaper garments, such as zippers snagging or snap buttons not closing properly. Custom zipper pulls and engraved buttons, among others, can strengthen branding and elevate a product.

Edge Finishing & Decorative Trims

Trims such as piping, ribbons, and woven tape are applied to edges or surfaces for aesthetics, finishing, or both. For example, some athletic brands use branded tapes running down the sleeves of a hoodie or the legs of a tracksuit for a sporty look. But this category can even include lace trims and fringe for more aesthetic appeal in womens’ or kids’ wear.

Branding & Labeling Trims

This category includes heat transfers and woven patches in addition to the basic size and wash care label requirements. Even if you’re making a basic garment with little to no decoration, the hang tag or neck label can be a way to identify your brand. There are creative opportunities here as well, such as using a sticker for a hang tag.

Fastening & Adjustment Components

Elastic waistbands and drawcords are common trims used not only for tightening or adjusting a garment, but also for increasing aesthetic appeal. For example, streetwear brands use less common drawcords to make hoodies stand out, such as a braided rope or even a ribbon instead of the traditional rope. Cord locks and stoppers have also seen innovation in recent years, with silicone tipping becoming increasingly popular.

Reinforcement & Utility Trims

Workwear and outerwear often require trims that improve durability and functionality, such as bartacks (dense stitching reinforcement at stress points, such as pockets) or rivets in denim. But with the rise of workwear aesthetics in fashion, these trims can also be used to add aesthetic appeal.

Embellishment Trims

Sequins, beads, studs, and rhinestones are just some of the trims that can be used to elevate your design. These might be glued using strong adhesives or sewn, depending on what’s best for the garment and its intended use.

Technical Trims

For performance garments, technical trims can increase utility. Reflective tape is important for applications such as biking, to improve the user’s safety, and grip tape or silicone printing can help prevent slipping in activewear.
